Emergency & Protective Services
Safety is a shared commitment in Madera, one built on trust, preparedness, and community partnership. Whether it’s a medical emergency, a fire response, or daily patrol through our neighborhoods, the City of Madera is dedicated to protecting residents.
Our Police and Fire Departments work around the clock to ensure Madera remains a safe, welcoming, and resilient city. These highly trained professionals not only respond to emergencies with speed and skill, they also engage with residents through outreach, education, and proactive public safety programs.
The Madera Police Department takes a community-first approach to law enforcement, focusing on building strong relationships with the people they serve. From neighborhood watch meetings and school outreach to patrol officers walking the beat or biking the trail, the department is deeply rooted in service, respect, and accountability.
The Madera Fire Department, operated in partnership with the City and County, provides critical fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services across our community. With a focus on prevention, the department also offers fire safety education, home inspections, and emergency preparedness resources to help residents stay informed and ready.
Emergency services go beyond sirens and uniforms. Our teams work together with local and regional partners to respond to natural disasters, support vulnerable populations, and build systems of care that can adapt in times of crisis.
