Battalion 51 is a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 Z71. It is used as a command vehicle for Madera City Fire Department Battalion Chief 51. Battalion 51 responds out of Station 58.
Department Fleet
Fire safety is important. The City funds a combined total of 24 suppression positions (including the Battalion Chief position) and one admin Battalion Chief. Both engines and the truck are staffed with 3 personnel consisting of a Fire Captain, Fire Apparatus Engineer and a Firefighter. As the city grows so does the response of the fire department, whether it be residential, industrial or commercial growth, the fire department needs to grow to maintain an adequate service for the citizens. On larger scale incidents resources from the Madera County Fire Department will also respond.
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a bed mounted 73 GPM pump and 70 gallon water tank. Utility 50 is housed at Station 58 and used to gain access to vegetation fires where Truck 58 can not.
