If you would like to obtain a copy of your criminal history, please follow the instructions below:

Local Criminal Offender Record Information

Local criminal history refers to records maintained by the Madera Police Department. You may request a check of your own local criminal history directly from this agency. To request your local criminal history:

• Fill out the application accurately and completely.
• Bring the completed application to the Madera Police Department along with a valid photo ID.
• A fee of $25 in cash is required to process your request.

Note: To obtain your state criminal record, you must contact the California Department of Justice (see below).

State Criminal Offender Record Information

Under California Penal Code Sections 11120 through 11127, individuals may obtain a copy of their State Summary Criminal History Record maintained by the California Bureau of Criminal Identification, and may challenge any inaccurate or erroneous information contained within the record.

Order a Copy of a Police Report

To request a copy of a police report, please provide the following information:

• Incident Number OR date and time of the incident
• Location where the incident occurred
• Notarized photo identification

There may be fees associated with obtaining a copy of the report (see fee schedule below). Submit proper payment to ensure prompt processing. Requests typically take 7–10 business days to process.
