Special Events

The City of Madera Parks & Community Services Department hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. These events typically include community celebrations, cultural festivals, parades, and recreational or athletic activities—all designed to bring residents together and are open to the public.

The 4th of July Golf Tournament is an annual event organized by the Parks & Community Services Department, held at the Madera Municipal Golf Course. Participants not only enjoy time on the greens, but families can also take advantage of various raffle prizes. The course features 18 holes, and the tournament features a 4-man scramble format for both men and women.

Experience the magic of the season with our festive trolley ride through a wonderland of holiday lights! The Jolley Trolley Light Tour offers free admission to all participants, but registration in advance is required. Pickup and drop-off will be at the Pan-American Community Center. The trolley ride takes you through city neighborhoods that have registered to participate in the light decoration contest, where you can also vote for the best-decorated house.

The City of Madera’s Parks and Community Services Department is excited to partner with our key sponsor, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), to present Movies in the Park. We host two annual events at Lions Town and Country Park: Summer Movies in the Park and Halloween Movie Night. Holiday Movie Night takes place at an indoor facility.

These events are free to attend, providing a wonderful opportunity for families and the community to come together and share their love of films. Location: In the amphitheater located between Granada Drive and Schnoor Avenue.

Summer Movies in the Park: 8-week series during July and August.

Halloween Movie Night & Holiday Movie Night: Community has the opportunity to vote for their favorite Holiday Family movie.
